Founded in 1867 in Besançon, LiP (Leschot Manufacture Instruments Précision) quickly established itself as one of the benchmarks of French watchmaking. The manufacture equipped Paul-Émile Victor's polar expeditions and became an official supplier to the French Navy. In the 1960s-70s, LiP revolutionized watchmaking with its avant-garde electronic watches, notably the famous LiP Mach 2000. Despite economic difficulties in the 80s, the brand was reborn in the 2000s, preserving its French heritage while modernizing its creations.
