Choosing the right dial for your future watch means choosing an accessory that matches your wrist. So, the first thing to do is to know the size of your wrist?
Generally speaking, the size of a man's wrist is estimated to be between 15 and 19 cm, while women's wrists measure between 14 and 18 cm. That said, knowing the measurements of your wrist is very easy if you apply the circumference method. Simply measure the perimeter of your wrist using a dressmaker's tape measure.
Measure your wrist size:
The first and easiest way to measure your wrist size is to use a tape measure, wrapped around your wrist, it gives you an exact measurement of the size of your wrist.
The other way is to cut a strip of paper or use a cord that you wrap around your wrist, where you usually wear your bracelets.
Make a pencil mark on the cord or on the paper tape, then measure the length from line to line with a flat ruler.
The tape measure method is easier to implement, so it is the one I recommend.
And then?
First rule to observe, it evokes the link between your timepiece and your wrist. For aesthetic reasons, it would be ideal if the size of the case was proportional to that of your wrist. Thus, watches with a large diameter case will be able to harmonize well with large wrists. The opposite for small sizes and small watches.
To talk numbers, a wrist circumference of around 14 cm can be suitable for a watch with a case diameter between 22 and 36 mm. On the other hand, if your wrist measures between 15 cm and 17 cm, you can opt for a timepiece with a case diameter between 38 and 42 mm. Accessories with a diameter between 44 and 48 mm would go better with wrists of 18 cm.
