In 1964, in order to promote his brand new electromechanical battery-powered movement, Fred LIP had the idea of ​​creating the “After-Sales Service” watch. So, when a customer came to have their LIP watch serviced or repaired, their authorized dealer offered them a most valuable service: a courtesy watch. This one, loaned during the service to avoid a painful wait, displayed its purpose on its dial with the inscription “AFTER-SALES – YOUR WATCHMAKER LENDS YOU THE TIME”. It was also equipped with the new electromechanical movement developed by the house. Customers therefore had the pleasure of experiencing the precision and ease of use of this revolutionary battery-powered movement. The success was such that many customers became attached to this atypical watch during the loan period and many of them were never returned... Putting an end to the operation and making this model very popular with collectors. LIP is today reviving this iconic model in the same configuration as the original from 1964: historic 35mm case, battery-powered movement and dial marked with the slogan “After-sales service – YOUR WATCHMAKER LENDS YOU THE TIME”
