A watch with retro charm
Its 29 mm polished 316L stainless steel case encloses the ingenious dial, which offers a very educational reading of the time on 3 circles. The first navy blue circle indicates the hours in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to midnight (hence the dark color), the second silver circle indicates the hours in the morning from midnight to noon (hence the silver color). These two circles are read with the red hour hand on the dial and as a reminder the numbers in the silver dial are also red. As for the last central white circle, it displays the minutes very explicitly: "5" "10" "and a quarter", "and a half", "minus 20", "minus a quarter"... just follow the silver hand to make a simple reading. This little watch is perfect for the very nostalgic or the little apprentices. Its navy blue jacquard textile strap with chrome buckles matches the case and dial perfectly, it will suit all wrists. This MiniLip has everything a great one needs!

A French story.
1969: The MiniLip, “This is not a watch for little ones” "It's big (7mm), it's wide (31mm). It's heavy, it has three dials. It's not a watch for little ones." These are the terms in which the Minilip was launched in 1969, in an advertisement that was not lacking in mischief. The Minilip then brought the Lip manufacturer into the world of educational watches specially designed for learning to tell the time. A niche market, since it concerns children aged between 6 and 8, it still concerned nearly 1.5 million potential wrists that could be covered with a watch in 1969 (Insee statistics). The Lip house, with over 100 years of experience in Besançon, will embark on this path from the end of the 1960s, by thinking about a watch that makes it easier to read the time, by adopting the Lip "leitmotif" of the time, an affordable but high-quality watch. In 2024, Lip is bringing this iconic watch back to life, with two almost identical versions of the original model.
