History of the watch

A Heritage of French Excellence

The Himalaya model was born from a discussion between Fred Lip, a mountain enthusiast, and his friend Lionel Terray, a high mountain guide. Maurice Herzog, the first mountaineer to climb Annapurna, also contributed to the success of this watch. Inspired by the peaks of the Himalayas, this watch was chosen by nine out of ten mountaineers for its resistance to the elements and shocks. The Lip Himalaya perpetuates this heritage of robustness and precision since its creation in 1954​
